NT Blickling Estate Norfolk
Mentioned in the Domesday Book, Blickling Estate was the birthplace of Anne Boleyn, and during the Second World War RAF air crew were billeted here, while its owner, Lord Lothian, influenced Churchill’s actions.
Nobody ever forgets their first sight of Blickling. The breath-taking Jacobean mansion and ancient yew hedges sit at the heart of a magnificent garden and historic park in the beautiful Bure meadows.
This year we’re shining a light on our eighteenth century Long Gallery library, as vital restoration work gets underway to we improve the fabric of the building. The collection contains over 12,500 volumes and is the most prestigious book collection held by National Trust.
